Lop Nur Salt Lake is the largest potassium-containing magnesium sulfate subtype brine deposit discovered in my country so far, with more than 11 billion tons of magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate resources in the salt lake brine. In addition to the huge waste of magnesium resources caused by the annual accumulation of magnesium chloride, the more serious is the formation of “magnesium harm”, which destroys the production balance of potash fertilizers. Therefore, it is urgent to carry out comprehensive utilization research on the old brine magnesium resources of Lop Nur Salt Lake.
At present, the actual method for mass production of magnesium oxide with a content of more than 99% in China is mostly the magnesium hydroxide method, that is, using brine as the main raw material, ammonia or alkali as a precipitant, first making magnesium hydroxide and then calcining and decomposing it into magnesium oxide. At present, the magnesium oxide produced by the ammonia method with Qinghai brine particles or other hydrous chlorine bischofite as the main raw materials can reach more than 99%, and the large-scale production technology of magnesium oxide is mature.
Hebei Messi Biology Co., Ltd. has conducted a series of experiments on precipitant selection, precipitation method test, precipitation process condition test, and precipitant recovery and treatment method research, and proposed the use of two-stage magnesium precipitation to prepare precursors and precursor calcination to produce magnesium oxide. It has produced magnesium oxide products with a purity greater than 98%, a particle size of nanometers, and all indicators meet the requirements of superior products. High-purity magnesium oxide can be widely used in electronics, electrical appliances, optics, instrumentation, metallurgy, national defense, aerospace and other fields, and has a high product added value. The application of this technology can greatly improve the comprehensive utilization rate of resources in the Lop Nur potash mine and contribute to the sustainable development of Lop Nur salt lake resources.
