Hebei Messi Biology Co., Ltd. stated that nanomagnesium oxide has long-lasting and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It is an antibacterial material that does not rely on ultraviolet light, is safe, non-toxic, has good stability and has huge application potential. Nanoscale magnesium oxide doped with different metal ions was prepared using coordination-precipitation method, uniform precipitation method, and sol-gel method, and its morphology and antibacterial activity were studied.
The results show that nano-magnesium oxide doped with different metal ions shows different antibacterial effects. Li-MgO can not only improve the defects on the magnesium oxide surface and promote the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS), but also the doping of ions improves the solution’s antibacterial effect. Alkalinity ensures the stability of ROS and promotes antibacterial effects. Through experiments such as fluorescence double staining method, growth curve and colony counting method, it was found that nanomagnesium oxide has good antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
