At present, my country has overcome the technical difficulties in the production of oriented silicon steel. Large enterprises such as Wuhan Iron and Steel, Baosteel, and Anshan Iron and Steel have built new oriented silicon steel production lines. Therefore, the market potential of silicon steel grade magnesium oxide is huge, and it is necessary to strengthen the research on the preparation technology of silicon steel grade magnesium oxide. The name of silicon steel grade magnesium oxide actually indicates its use, that is, magnesium oxide suitable for the manufacture of oriented silicon steel sheets. It has special qualities:

The product’s magnesium oxide content and hydration rate are better than those of Japanese products, changing the situation in which Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation had long relied on imports of major chemical raw materials after introducing the 1.7m rolling mill. In 1999, the second generation of silicon steel magnesium oxide was successfully developed to meet the needs of Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation’s oriented silicon steel sheet production to develop into a thin series. In order to improve electromagnetic properties and improve silicon steel performance grades, the third generation of silicon steel magnesium oxide is being developed. At present, Anshan Iron and Steel Corporation and Baosteel Corporation of China are preparing to build new silicon steel production lines, and the demand for silicon steel grade magnesium oxide is increasing, which has attracted the attention of industry insiders.
