Recently, domestic traders often ask whether magnesium carbonate is a dangerous good when consulting on the export of magnesium carbonate. Hebei Messi Biology Co., Ltd. can clearly tell you that magnesium carbonate is just an ordinary chemical product, not a dangerous good, and you can export it with confidence.
Magnesium carbonate is relatively stable, non-toxic, odorless, relatively stable in the air, and its solubility in water is 0.02% (15°C). It is not a dangerous good. It is mainly used in pharmaceutical intermediates, antacids, desiccants, colorants, carriers, and anti-caking agents; in food as an additive and magnesium element compensator; in fine chemicals for the production of chemical reagents; in rubber as a reinforcing agent and filler; it can be used as an insulating, high-temperature resistant fireproof and heat-insulating material; an important chemical raw material in the manufacturing process of wires and cables. Manufacture of high-grade glass products; enamel ceramics for surface brightening; production of magnesium salts, pigments, paints, daily cosmetics, shipbuilding, boiler manufacturing. And for athletes to wipe their hands during competitions.
Production method:
1. Magnesium oxide is obtained by mixing magnesite (MgCO3) and coke and roasting them. After adding water to form a muddy state, CO2 is introduced to obtain magnesium bicarbonate. After filtering, the filtrate is heated to obtain basic carbonate precipitation.
2. Dolomite (MgCO3·CaCO3) is heated with a low fire to decompose and crush only magnesium carbonate. It is reacted with water and carbon dioxide at 0.508-0.609MPa, and magnesium oxide is converted into magnesium bicarbonate and dissolved. At this time, calcium carbonate is left, which is obtained by filtering and heating.
3. Equal amounts of crystalline magnesium sulfate and crystalline sodium carbonate are dissolved in 10 times the amount of water, heated to 60-80℃ and mixed thoroughly, and a precipitate is generated while CO2 gas is generated. Filter out the precipitate, mix it with hot water at 70-80℃, and filter it again. Repeat this washing process, and the precipitate is dried at 50-60℃ after being fully washed.
